Good running weather for the race although there was a horrible head wind for the first 9 miles. There were 325 finishers. It is a beautiful race with a mixture of roads, bridleways and other off road parts to contend with including stiles and gates. There is only one hill and, although it is near the end, it isn't too long and leaves you
with a fantastic downhill run in for the last 2 miles. It is held alongside Horton cum Studley's annual fete and so there are ice creams, cakes, beers etc all available afterwards. Good results for Headington with Duncan Lawrence coming in second overall and Julien L'homme one place behind in third overall and second in his age cat - M40. Tim Betts was third in M50 cat, Ursula Schulz was third in the W50 cat and Jackie Duvall won the W60 cat. |
