43rd running of the Stroud half marathon. I think I have completed 9 of them. A decent size field with just short of 1500 finishers. Conditions were near perfect, clear and sunny with very little breeze. A well organised event as always, running out through Stonehouse and over the M5 and back through the suburbs of Stroud. Not flat, but not very hilly, undulations I think would be a reasonable description. The climb between 6 and 7 miles usually defines my Stroud race, and I came off the top of the hill this year feeling in better shape than usual for the run in. |
