On 6th of October I took part in the 100 year celebrations of the Košice International Peace Marathon. Košice is a nice city in the East of Slovakia. The marathon is run over a flat two lap course never going very far from the city centre with its beautiful cathedral. About 2600 marathoners and 600 relay teams of four runners started at 9 in the morning with 6000 half marathon runners joining after one and a half hours. It had a great atmosphere and felt very inclusive with all events ending at 3 in the afternoon. I did not manage to get under four hours as hoped, but achieved my best marathon time since 2011. |
